Visit the scenic moorland village of Goathland and see the station turned into ‘Hogsmeade’ for 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone'. Discover the traditional seaside town of Whitby, enjoying a lunch of fish and chips and then taking a stroll along the harbor or visiting the dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for the novel ‘Dracula’. Drive through more classic Yorkshire countryside as you make your way through Egton and Egton Bridge towards Glaisdale. This peaceful village is home to Beggers Bridge, a 17th-century bridge with a fascinating romantic story behind it.  Enjoy uninterrupted panoramic views on the moorlands before stopping to view a collection of historic furnaces and explore the quaint market town of Helmsley. It was amazing! We learned alot about Yorkshire and the moorlands. Lee had a ton of trivia to keep us informed and entertained throughout the drive. And the moorlands are breathtaking! The towns of Helmsley and Pickering were absolutely gorgeous and are must see places when you visit Yorkshire. Whitby was a bit of a let down due to the number of tourists there -- it was chaotic. But the fish and chips shops kind of make the visit there, worth it.

A tour of the York Moors was an absolutely unforgettable experience. There were stops along the way appropriately and you could take photos along the way appropriately. A stop at Aidensfield could be a little longer approx. 15-30 minutes because in 30 minutes I didn't have time to see everything. However, considering the whole, the trip was profitable.

I left the mini van in a hurry so didn't thank J.J enough. He was one of the best guides i have ever had. He was so knowledgeable w/o being a know it all or making silly jokes. He took us on very minor roads that i have never travelled - I've been to this part of the country before but always used direct routes. He knew where places were - I wanted a particular restaurant that had been recommended and also where to buy jet and that Whitby jet was the best and why. my fellow passengers were really nice and marveled at all the rural scenes.
