Explore the Dutch countryside in a comfortable car on a full-day guided tour from Amsterdam. Stroll around and explore its quaint streets. In the summer you may even take a 30-minute boat ride to this Island from Volendam. During the day you’ll have some time to relax and sample some typical, delicious Dutch food like pancakes and herring.

Meet your guide at Zaanse Schans in front of Zaandam Time Museum / Museum of the Dutch Clock. Encounter the picturesque sights of the village, including the typical houses, and the guide will show you the village and the typical dutch atmosphere. You will have the chance to go inside a typical dutch house and to visit the wooden shoe factory and why not, try on a pair of wooden clogs. After the tour, explore the village at your leisure, and shop for local delicacies like mustard, cheese, and traditional Dutch cookies. At the end of the tour, the guide will leave you to continue the visit of the village by yourself and to be back in Amsterdam when you wish.

A relaxing and complete journey to the typical Dutch countryside, visiting a windmill and fishing village. After being picked up from your hotel in the Amsterdam area by a friendly local guide, you will transfer to your van to enjoy a small-group traveling experience with a personal touch. Your typical Dutch experience begins with the Zaanse Schans windmill village. You can see the clog makers at work in the workshop, and learn about the history of wooden shoes in the museum. Following this you will experience a cheese factory demonstration where staff will be dressed in traditional Dutch costumes. You can buy beautiful souvenirs in a wide variety of outlets from cheese, wooden shoes, delft blue pottery, to local handcrafted items. Do not miss your chance to have your picture taken in the giant wooden shoe! Following this, you will arrive in Volendam at around noon. Here you will begin a guided walking tour to explore the charming seaside village. You can stroll along a walkway adjacent to the old port area, visit local vendors for authentic Dutch treats, experience seafood from the region, and sample cheese, waffles and pancakes. You will also have the opportunity here to dress up in an authentic local costume!

- After pick you up at your hotel in Amsterdam, at the cruiseship, airport or Passenger Terminal or any other agreed upon location in central Amsterdam, we head for Central Station - In case you do encounter problems with walking we will take the bus to a stop very closeby (within 250 yards) from the entrance of the small village where the windmills are situated - In case everyone of your party is able to walk well we might take the train instead. The train is faster and there is a nice view from the bridge towards the windmills. The walk from the station to the village is around 2/3 of a mile - At the windmillcomplex it is possible to visit the interior of 2 windmills. Entrance fees are not included in the tour price (5 euro per person). - There are a cheese and wooden shoe factury at the village as well. It is free to watch how they make cheese and wooden shoes - This Private Tour (only your group, allthough we will take public transportation) takes 3 to 4 hours. - This is the closest by complex of windmills with the option to enter one near Amsterdam. You will get to see some for the Western part of The Netherlands classic countryside as well. - Tickets for public transportation are included in the price.
