Zakynthos: Island Day Trip with Turtles, Swimming, and Caves

3. Zakynthos: Island Day Trip with Turtles, Swimming, and Caves

t After a convenient pickup from your hotel, head to Kalamaki beach on Zante's southern shores. Enjoy the pristine beach with soft sand and warm waters, protected by National Marine Park. See where the endangered loggerhead sea turtles nest. You may spot tiny baby turtles breaking out of their shells. Next, head to Laganas beach to board the glass-bottom boat. Sail to the Keri Caves, carved by time, tides, and wind. Follow the coastline, admiring the white beaches, rock arches, forested hills, and enormous limestone cliffs that fall into the sea. Pass through the famous rock arch, Kamara.  Stop for a 20-minute swim just outside the entrance to a vast cave. Climb back on board to head to Marathonisi, known as Turtle Island, an exotic, green, and coincidentally turtle-shaped island. Enjoy an hour on the golden sandy beach where you can swim and snorkel. Head back and pass the famous Cameo island bridge. Enjoy the idyllic views of secluded beaches surrounded by steep white limestone. Enjoy a final stop at the award-winning Aristeon ecological olive oil press museum in Lithakia. Explore the history of olive oil making on the island with experts.  Enjoy free tasters of local olives and traditional bread with different flavored extra virgin olive oils (most likely lemon, orange, and garlic). What people are saying about Zakynthos

it was an amazing day out definitely recommend! had plenty of slides to go on your own or with another person, there was a lazy river, an amazing kids section with a pirate ship, a basic but nice restaurant, a gift shop - which you could purchase photos of yourselves from that get taken throughout the day by photographers, there was a nice big pool with a pool bar so you could purchase drinks and snacks. there was even a little place with the foot treatment when the fish bite the dead skin off your feet ! you can purchase a locker for €5 euros and u get €1 euro back

Leaving in a small group and early in the morning is the best option. The places visited are absolutely wonderful! And the captain, a great guide and expert on its natural heritage! And really impressive, absolutely wanting to show us the mascot of the island! The caretta-caretta turtle.. And she succeeded! What patience and mastery she had to navigate among all these boats. Thank you Stella!

This tour takes you to Keri Caves which is definitely the most beautiful part of the island. The water, the caves and remote beaches are indescribable! There is no stop for lunch but you can grab something at Turtle island which has boat bars if you need. Tour guide was super nice and the quick stop for the tasting at Olive Museum was also fun :) highly recommend it!

It was lovely, we managed to see a turtle while the captain wasn’t chasing or in any way disturbing the lovely sea animal! Great day!
