Experience everyday rural life in some of the most beautiful and remote regions of China on a 5-day tour of the mountains, valleys and ancient settlements of Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang. Day 1: Get a meet and greet at Zhangjiajie Airport, the railway station or your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Day 2: Visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and ride up Yuanjiajie Mountain on the glass Bailong Elevator. Hike to the Pillar of the Southern Sky and see why it provided inspiration for the movie Avatar. Walk across No. 1 Bridge under Heaven and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then, take the bus to Tianzi Mountain and see the Fairy Lady Presents Flowers rock formation. Day 3: Explore the Golden Whip Stream (Jinbianxi) in the morning and hike for about 2.5 hours along the brook. Relax in the fresh air of the mountains and ride the cable car to Huangshi village, 3,543 feet (1,080 meters) above sea level. Day 4: Ride the world's longest cable car up Tianmen Mountain and walk on the glass Sky Walk. Continue to Fenghuang and relax in the bars in the evening. Day 5: Visit Fenghuang Ancient Town (Phoenix Ancient Town), said to be the most beautiful village in China for its mountains, rivers and primitive architecture. Return to Zhangjiajie and get dropped off at your hotel or the train station or airport if you prefer.
